About Dr. Dean HO

Dr. Dean Ho is a distinguished biomedical engineer and academic leader at theNational University of Singapore (NUS). He holds the position of Provost’sChair Professor and serves as the Head of the Department of BiomedicalEngineering within the College of Design and Engineering. Dr. Ho is also theDirector of the N.1 Institute for Health and the Institute for Digital Medicine(WisDM), both of which are clinical-stage research institutes at NUS.​

His pioneering work in artificial intelligence (AI)-driven personalized medicinehas led to the development of platforms such as CURATE.AI, which enablesindividualized treatment plans, and IDentif.AI, aimed at optimizing combinationtherapies for infectious diseases. Additionally, his team introduced WisDMGreen, a technology platform designed to enhance food security and optimizeagricultural yields while preserving nutritional content.​

Dr. Ho's innovations have garnered international recognition, with features inprominent media outlets including CNN, The Economist, Forbes, and NationalGeographic. He is also a Subgroup Lead in the World Health Organization'sAI for Health Working Group, contributing to the regulation of AI applications inhealthcare. His contributions to science and technology have earned himmemberships in esteemed organizations such as the US National Academy ofInventors and fellowships in the American Association for the Advancementof Science (AAAS) and the American Institute for Medical and BiologicalEngineering (AIMBE).​
