About Dr. S. Saravana Kumar

Dr Saravana Kumar is a seasoned leader in emergency medicine and hospitaloperations with a strong track-record in quality & patient safety. He currentlyserves as Group Unit Head at Dr. Mehta's Hospitals in Chennai, where heoversees emergency services, hospital operations and quality initiatives. ​

In his academic and professional leadership roles, he is the Executive Co-Chair& Past President of the Society for Emergency Medicine India (SEMI) and Chair ofthe Quality & Patient Safety Special Interest Group (SIG) of the InternationalFederation for Emergency Medicine (IFEM). ​

Dr Kumar’s credentials include formal training in Emergency Medicine in Indiaand an MBA in Hospital Management from Birla Institute of Technology andScience, Pilani (BITS Pilani). He has spearheaded many innovations inemergency care standards, disaster life-support training and patient-safetyframeworks, earning notable recognition such as the “Young Quality Achiever2018” award by the Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organizations, India. ​
