Dr. Vivekanandan Kalaiselvan serves as the Secretary-cum-Scientific Director of the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), the national body responsible for setting quality standards for medicines in India. With an extensive background in pharmacovigilance, drug safety, and regulatory science, he plays a pivotal role in strengthening India’s public health framework through standardization, scientific research, and nationwide surveillance systems. Dr. Kalaiselvan has been instrumental in expanding the scope and impact of the Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI), ensuring stronger reporting mechanisms, signal detection processes, and overall medication safety for millions of patients.
