About Joy Kezia R

Having graduated from the prestigious Christian Medical College & Hospital, Vellore, I began my career as a staff nurse in the neonatal ICU at CMC in the year 2001, & went on to be a clinical instructor, Lecturer, Clinical Coordinator & Nurse Educator in various other institutions.

My contributions to healthcare organizations have been palpable in organizations while I was a Nurse Educator at Global Hospitals, Nursing Coordinator at SIMS, & DNS at the SRM group Chennai, following which I was the CNO at Fortis Hospital, Chennai from 2017 to 2020. I work currently as the Chief Nursing Officer at Apollo Hospitals Vanagaram Chennai since 2020.

With a gold medal in MSc Nursing in 2007, I had completed MBA in 2013. Was recognized & sponsored to do the Healthcare Leadership in Trauma Care from The Harvard School at Boston USA in 2016. Also underwent a week-long Healthcare Leadership Program from IIM Kolkatta in 2017 & from IIT Kozhikode in 2024.

Was awarded the Tamil Nadu state Best Administrator Award in 2025, bagged collective awards which included AHPI awards for Nursing Excellence, CAHO award for best research papers, SITA award for elder friendly hospital & the CII award for the Green Hospital. Was also a proud recipient of the Covid warrior award from the TCS group in 2020 & a recipient of the best nurse award from the Global Hospitals in 2015. As a BSc Nursing student in the year 2000, was a recipient of the best research paper submitted to the Arabian Gulf University, Bahrain, at their International healthcare conference.

With nursing leadership as my passion, I function on a philosophy of trust, clarity & empowerment, inspiring teams to align goals for the greater purpose of putting patients first. Patient experience and safety culture by implementing data-driven strategies, empathy training, are at the core of every day practice. The Ethics & Ethos of Nursing keep me resilient and looking forward to being a contributor than a mere consumer.
