About Mr. R Govind Hari

R. Govind Hari is an Indian philanthropist, social entrepreneur and healthcare-leader who currently serves as Chairman of the Pushpagiri Vitreo Retina Institute (PVRI) — a super-specialty eye-care network.  Under his leadership, PVRI has expanded into multiple tertiary eye-care hospitals, offering services such as cataract surgery, vitreo-retinal care, glaucoma treatment, pediatric ophthalmology, and low-vision rehabilitation. Beyond eye-care, he has been active in philanthropic and social welfare work: he has held leadership roles in organisations involved with education, healthcare, tribal welfare, and social service. ​

In addition, Govind Hari has played institutional roles in national-level ophthalmic and vision-health initiatives: he has served as Chairman — South Zone of the Eye Bank Association of India, and has also been associated with the national initiative Vision 2020 (India).He completed his undergraduate education from Osmania University.​
