Ms. Saino Thomas is an accomplished healthcare leader and senior nursing executive with over 22 years of extensive experience in hospital management, clinical governance, and strategic leadership across India, the UAE, and Bahrain. Currently serving as the Group Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) for CTSI – American Oncology Institute and Citizens (a Siemens Healthineers company), she leads enterprise-wide nursing strategy for oncology and multi-specialty hospitals, driving clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and sustainable business growth.
In her present role, Ms. Thomas oversees nursing leadership across multiple units, guiding a team of more than 16 Nursing Superintendents and 650+ nursing professionals. Her portfolio spans business growth, service excellence, clinical quality, talent engagement, community outreach, and innovation through process re-engineering. She has played a pivotal role in commissioning new hospitals, implementing HIS and EMR systems, strengthening infection control frameworks, and ensuring adherence to national and international accreditation standards including NABH, JCI, and Nursing Excellence certifications.
Ms. Thomas is widely recognized for her expertise in nursing operations, quality management, organizational development, accreditation readiness, supply chain optimization, and leadership development. She has successfully led large-scale transformation initiatives such as the Nursing Leadership Program (LEAP), SYNERGY annual leadership meets, specialty-specific education modules, monthly quality dashboards, and structured competency frameworks. Her work has consistently resulted in cost optimization, improved patient outcomes, enhanced staff engagement, and measurable improvements in quality indicators.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Thomas served as AGM Nursing and Regional Head at Aster DM Healthcare in the UAE and Bahrain, where she managed over 600 employees and led major initiatives including HIS implementation, automation of clinical documentation, inventory rationalization, pandemic command centers, and regulatory compliance with DHA, NHRA, MOH, and HAAD guidelines. She has also held leadership positions with Columbia Asia Hospitals, HCG, and Sagar Hospitals, contributing to operational excellence, patient experience improvement, and accreditation success.
An active contributor to the professional nursing community, Ms. Thomas is a CPHQ–CAHO certified professional, a certified POSH trainer, and a Governing Council member of the Infusion Nursing Society (INS). She serves as an INFUZE auditor and Hyderabad chapter lead and was instrumental in organizing the 12th Annual Infusion Nursing Society Conference in 2025. She is a sought-after speaker, panelist, and moderator at national and international forums on nursing leadership, quality, and clinical excellence.
Academically, Ms. Thomas holds multiple advanced qualifications including GMPE from IIM Indore, MSc Nursing (Paediatrics), MBA, MHA (HR), and BSN.
