Capt Sandhya Shankar Pandey is a visionary nurse leader with extensive experience in military, corporate, and hospital healthcare management. She has served in the Military Nursing Services of the Indian Army, held leadership roles as National Manager – Clinical at Hillenbrand Industries, USA, and worked as GM HR-Clinical, GM-Nursing Quality, Education & Training, before assuming the role of Group Director Nursing at Medanta.
Her qualifications include B.Sc. Nursing from AFMC, M.Sc. in Public Health Nursing (BFUHS), PGDHRM (XLRI), and a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Leadership from the National University of Singapore.
Her exceptional contributions have been recognized with numerous prestigious awards, including the Healthcare Leadership Award (2024), Patient Safety Champion Award (2023), Woman Super Achiever Award (2020), and National Healthcare Woman Leadership Award (2019). She has also received military honors such as the Chief of Army Staff Commendation (2002) for her contribution to the Bhuj Earthquake relief efforts, the General Officer in Command Commendation for Operation Vijay (Kargil War), and academic distinctions like the General Cariappa Medal and KS Masters Medal for excellence in nursing education.

Sandhya has co-authored multiple national and international publications, contributed chapters to six medical books, and published 17 scientific papers on nursing practice, healthcare quality, and hospital administration. She has also played a pivotal role in developing CBSE’s Healthcare Sciences book and drafting Hospital Housekeeping Guidelines for Indian Hospitals under the Ministry of Health.
