Colonel Binu Sharma is an accomplished leader in Nursing services, with over four decades of experience in both the Armed Forces and the private healthcare sector. She began her career in 1980 and served in various Armed Forces hospitals across India until 2002. She then transitioned to the private sector, taking on the role of Chief Nursing Officer at Max Healthcare Group from 2002 to 2007. From 2007 to 2021, she held the position of Senior Vice President of Nursing Services at Columbia Asia Group in India. Since 2021, she has served as the Senior Director of Nursing at Max Healthcare Institute Limited.
Colonel Sharma’s educational qualifications include training under the Armed Forces Medical Services Board, completion of a Senior Nursing Officers' Administrative Course, specialization in Critical Care and Cardiothoracic Nursing, participation in a Leadership Program from Crestcom USA, and a Diploma in Financial Management from ICAI.
Her excellence has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Icon Award by the Infusion Nursing Society (2024), the Top Healthcare Leader Award (2024), the Woman of Excellence Award from the India Achievers' Forum (2022), the Mother Teresa Memorial National Award (2021), and the Nightingale Award for Nursing Leadership.
In addition to receiving multiple awards, she has contributed to the field through research papers, books, and presentations at national and international conferences. She is the President of INS India (a US affiliate), a founding member of the Association of Nurse Executives India, a member of the CAHO Advisory Panel for Patient Safety, the Joint Secretary of the Inter-Professional Wound Care Association, and a certified NABH and Nursing Excellence Assessor.
Her advisory roles extend across several healthcare forums globally, making her a torchbearer for Nursing leadership in India and beyond.
