Dr Arun Kumar Agarwal is a Medical graduate and Post graduate of King George, Medical College Lucknow and completed his masters in Ear Nose and Throat speciality in 1976. Thereafter, he was appointed as faculty in Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi from 1981 onwards and ultimately retired as Dean and Professor of Excellence from the same college. In between he has held position of Additional Director General Health Services, Govt of India. At present he is the Medical Advisor- Innovation, Education and Clinical Excellence with Apollo Hospitals Group.
Considering his interest in Medical Education he was also conferred Honorary Doctorate of Science (DSC). He has been the Chairman of ENT Education Committee for the entire globe through their international federation. Due to his interest in Prevention of Deafness all over the globe he is the Advisor to WHO, Geneva for Prevention of Hearing Loss and also chairing the committee of World Hearing Day.
He has been a part of some of important committees recommended by Supreme Court of India such as Anti-Ragging Committee and regulation of New Drug Trails – Assessment of Causality and Compensation.
Dr Arun Kumar Agarwal also credited with starting Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Maldives, as In-charge and Director of Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences, New Delhi. Besides, being involved in Medical Council of India and National Board of Examination he has been instrumental in various Public Health aspect in Prevention of Hearing Loss not only in India but all over the globe.
