Dr. Bala Bhaskar S is a highly esteemed anaesthesiologist, educator, and researcher with over 30 years of experience in Anaesthesia and Critical Care. Currently serving as Professor & Head at Ballari Medical College & Research Centre, he has been instrumental in advancing medical education, research, and clinical protocols in anaesthesiology. His expertise spans education, research, airway management, critical care, skill labs, simulation, and CPR protocols.
He has held multiple leadership roles, including Editor-in-Chief of the Indian Journal of Anaesthesia (2013-16), President of the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists (ISA) (2019), and Member Secretary of the Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC), BMCRC, Ballari. His academic contributions include serving as Deputy Editor of 'Update in Anaesthesia' (WFSA), Member of the Board of Studies (UG & PG, Anaesthesiology) at BLDE Deemed University, and Editorial Board Member of RJMS (RGUHS).
Dr. Bhaskar has been a key figure in shaping anaesthesiology education in India. He was the Chief Coordinator of the expert group that developed the CBME curriculum for MD Anaesthesiology at RGUHS, Bengaluru. He has also served as an Adjunct Faculty at MAHE, Manipal, and as a PG Examiner, MCI/NMC/DNB Inspector, and research workshop faculty at various universities.
