Dr. Pratheesh Ravindran is a distinguished neurosurgeon currently serving as the Professor and Head of the Department of Neurosurgery, as well as the Deputy Medical Superintendent for Superspecialty Services at Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute, Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth University. He earned his MBBS and MCh in Neurosurgery from Christian Medical College, Vellore, and holds additional qualifications including an MBA in Hospital Management and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Medical Law and Ethics from the National Law School, Bangalore. Dr. Ravindran is an International Fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and has completed fellowships such as the Karl Storz Endoscopy Fellowship and the Aesculap Pain Fellowship.
With a robust research portfolio, Dr. Ravindran has contributed to the understanding of postoperative diabetes insipidus in craniopharyngioma patients and the role of transcranial surgery in managing pituitary adenomas. He is an active member of several professional bodies, including the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (USA), AOSpine, and the Neurological Society of India. His clinical interests encompass neuro-oncology, endoscopic skull base neurosurgery, pain neurosurgery, and spinal disorders. Beyond his clinical and academic roles, Dr. Ravindran co-chairs the Collaborative Research Committee of the Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organizations (CAHO), reflecting his commitment to advancing healthcare quality and research.
