Dr. Saravanakumar S is a renowned leader in emergency medicine, currently serving as the Group Unit Head and Consultant in Emergency Medicine at Dr. Mehta’s Hospitals, Chennai. He also oversees quality and patient safety initiatives across the organization.
As the Executive Co-Chairman and Past President of the Society for Emergency Medicine India (SEMI), he has pioneered several key training programs, including quality and disaster life support, cardiac life support, and leadership training for emergency specialists. He also launched the Fellowship in Emergency Medicine certification, earning the title “Pioneer in SEMI Academics.”
Dr. Saravana kumar is the Editor-in-Chief of Health QUEST, India’s first emergency medicine safety guidelines inspired by ISRO’s best practices. His contributions to improving patient safety and healthcare quality earned him the “Young Quality Achiever 2018” award from CAHO.
He currently chair of the Quality and Patient Safety Special Interest Group for the International Federation of Emergency Medicine (IFEM), working towards global standards in emergency medicine.
With numerous awards, publications, and guest lectures in India and abroad, Dr. Saravanakumar continues to shape the future of emergency medicine and healthcare quality.
