Prof. Lavanya Nandan is an accomplished Nursing professional with extensive experience in leadership and education. She has served as the Dean & Principal at Rama Institute of Nursing and as the Principal of Apollo School of Nursing, New Delhi. Holding an M.Sc. in Nursing (Obstetrics and Gynaecology Nursing), she is also a Ph.D. scholar. Prof. Nandan has received prestigious accolades, including the ICN GNLI Leadership Program Certification (2023) and the Florence Nightingale Foundation Scholarship (2024) in London.
She has been recognized as the Best Teacher by her parental institution and actively contributes as an Adhoc inspector with INC, U.P. Government, and UPSMF. Additionally, she serves as a paper setter and evaluator for various universities and holds the position of Secretary of the CNPD Committee, UPSMF Uttar Pradesh.
With over 20 research publications in national and international journals, Prof. Nandan has also guided more than 50 postgraduate students. She has authored books, including First Aid and Cumulative Record for B.Sc. Nursing and Mental Health Nursing Practical Record Book, and is currently editing Nursing Research and OBG Practical Record. She played a key role in developing a skill lab in collaboration with JHPIEGO and USAID. Under her leadership, the Nightingale Institute has been recognized as a Mentor Institute and awarded an A Grade by QCI for maintaining exceptional nursing education standards in Uttar Pradesh.
Prof. Nandan successfully completed a Maternal & Child Health project under the Multi-Country Midwifery Initiative with MAMTA Health Institute and Lund University, Sweden, in February 2023. She is associated with the Nursing Scholar Society (Delhi Chapter), ANEI, and SOMI (UP). She also serves as the President of INNO Health U.P. Chapter (Nursing Section), Secretary of NSS Delhi Lavender, and an active professional member of the Health Parliament.
Currently, she is pursuing a certificate course in Digital Health (Nursing) from the Academy of Digital Health Sciences and IIM Raipur.
