Prof Dr A N Venkatesh is a committed Emergency physician. From his early days in field of Medicine he has been having keen interest in Emergency Medicine and management of acute cases.
He graduated with MBBS from Bangalore University, Karnataka. He went on to do post graduate training in Emergency Medicine with Fellowship in Emergency Medicine (RCGP-UK) and Membership of Royal College of Emergency medicine (UK). He has further completed his post-graduation management, PGCGM from XLRI, Jamshedpur. He has been interested in keeping his knowledge and skill updated and been an active participant and delivering talks and participating in discussion in various national and international conferences and CME’s.
Dr A N Venkatesh is actively contributing for the growth and development for the field of Emergency Medicine in India. He has held various positions the Society for Emergency Medicine India over the years and he is the immediate past National President for SEMI. He has been working to spread the speciality across the country. He is also actively involved in promoting patient safety in Emergency medicine. He is also member of special interest group of International Federation for Emergency Medicine (IFEM) and Euro-Asian society of Emergency Medicine. He is Lead Supervisor for EMFP (emergency medicine Foundation program), Royal College of Emergency Medicine (RCEM), UK and Regional co-ordinator for Membership of royal college of emergency medicine (MRCEM), RCEM, UK.
Over the years, Dr A N Venkatesh has been involved in coordinating and liaising with multiple specialties and teams both inside and outside the hospital. This is reflected in him being the face of Apollo Hospitals at various events and been awarded with various recognition awards like - the Karnataka Seva Rathna Award from the K.R. Narayanan Foundation Trust at Bangalore in 2009, Best Raising Star Award (Emergency Medicine in Karnataka) Times healthcare achievers, 2019 and recently has been awarded Apollo Distinguished Clinician award from Apollo Hospital group for year 2023.
His interpersonal skills and ability to work along with various specialties helped Apollo Hospitals, Bangalore come up with rapid response to pandemic during COVID-19 pandemic. Keeping staff and in hospital patients safety in mind during the pandemic. He was able to get all teams of specialists, staff and management to work harmoniously and serve our patient safely and efficiently.
Dr Venkatesh is well recognised for his contribution to Emergency Medicine in India. He has been active not only in India but has started making his presence felt internationally. He has been able to deliver well-accepted talks in international conferences. He has also been active in able to organise a successful EMCON – SLEMCON 2021, which was Emergency medicine conference in association with Srilankan Emergency medicine society in Feb 2021 at Hyderabad.
Dr Venkatesh has been associated with Apollo Hospitals from his early days in career. He is no stranger to significance of patient safety and emergency preparedness in day to day work. He has been active member of JCI implementation team in hospital and has successfully implemented IPSG goals across Emergency departments at Apollo hospitals.
Having been a trained and practicing Emergency medicine from its early days, Dr Venkatesh has witnessed the growth of speciality in country and has worked on ensuring that the patient safety in has also kept in pace with the ever growing speciality
