Dr. Latha Venkatesan is a distinguished Nursing professional with extensive experience in education, leadership, and research. She serves as an Honorary Professor at Queens University Belfast, Northern Ireland, and has worked as a staff nurse at the Army Hospital in Kuwait.
A Leadership for Change Fellow by the International Council of Nurses, she has contributed to global nursing policies, including reviewing the UNFPA & ICM Direct-entry Midwifery Curriculum and advising the Indo-Sweden Skill to Scale initiative.
She has been an invited speaker at international forums and has facilitated exchange programs with institutions in Finland, Singapore, and the UK. She has also contributed to WHO-SEAR and AIIMS-UCLA projects and established an OET test venue in India.
Holding multiple degrees and certifications, including Ph.D. (N), Ph.D. (HDFS), MBA (HM), and M.Sc. (Acu), Dr. Venkatesan has been honored with awards such as Best Teacher, Best Nursing Researcher, and Best Nurse Educator. She plays a key role in national and state-level nursing education, serving on committees for INC, NABH, JIPMER, AIIMS, and PGI Rohtak.
She was the Thematic Lead for COVID-19 content creation by MoHFW and a subject expert for IT-enabled capacity-building programs for nurses.
She has also contributed to record standardization for the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council.
As a NABH Assessor, she has been instrumental in developing Nursing Excellence Standards and assessment frameworks.
A research mentor for Ph.D. students, she has led multiple funded projects and published over 200 articles and seven Nursing textbooks.
Her contributions continue to shape nursing education, research, and quality assurance at national and global levels.
