Dr. Amit Kumar Gupta
Dr. Amit Kumar Gupta is a medical doctor with more than 23 years of professional experience in Clinical Medicine, Public Health, Quality, Training, Research, and Health Management. He obtained his medical degrees of MBBS, MD (Public Health) and DTCD (Pulmonology) – all from the prestigious University of Delhi. He has also completed MBA, M.Phil. (Geriatric Care) and two PG Certificates (Hospital Management and H&FW Management), and is certified in BLS, ACLS, ATLS, Vaccinology, and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. He has handled diversified roles in corporate & government health sectors including the Central Government of India, the Delhi State Government, the National AIDS Control Organization, and the UN health agencies like WHO and UNICEF.
Dr. Gupta presently heads the Medical Services and Quality at HCL Healthcare and is facilitating Clinical and Quality Excellence. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he has played a key role in facilitating several health risk management initiatives. As regards Quality and Patient Safety, Dr Gupta has a proven track-record as an experienced patient safety leader with a dedication to protecting patients and preventing medical errors. With his team at HCL Healthcare, he has developed and implemented various safety protocols, identified risk areas, and led investigations into adverse events. With his passion about patient-centered care and commitment to promoting a culture of safety in corporate healthcare settings, some of his key initiatives and quality improvement projects include clinical quality evaluation, usage of net promotor score, digitized incident management system, Infection Prevention & Control in Corporate Campuses, and NABH accreditation of HCL Healthcare’s corporate clinics. In fact, HCL Healthcare is the pioneer in NABH accreditation of corporate clinics in India as its onsite clinics at Noida, Chennai and Bangalore are the first, second and third corporate clinics to get the NABH accreditation in the country.
Dr. Gupta has published more than 40 research papers, made presentations at various national & international platforms, and organized many national & international health events. He is life member of several scientific associations including NCCP (India), ISCCM, ISTAC, API, IPHA, IAPSM, EFI, ACHHA, ISDA, DTA, AIFPDM and IMA. He is also active in pertinent mass media programmes on TV, Radio etc.
