Dr. Joel A. Roos is the Vice President of International Accreditation, Quality Improvement and Patient Safety for Joint Commission International, responsible for developing and leading the overall strategic direction of JCI’s accreditation and certification programs.
Dr. Joel A. Roos has been dedicated to improving the quality of care for military personnel, their families and veterans across the country. Dr. Joel A. Roos served as the Assistant Deputy Under Secretary for Health for Quality, Safety and Value at the Veterans Health Administration, Washington, D.C. providing national leadership in the development and implementation of health care policies. Previously, Dr. Joel A. Roos served as the Commanding Officer at Naval Medical Centre San Diego, responsible for a multispecialty teaching hospital with a staff of 6,500 personnel and 25 graduate medical programs. Dr. Joel A. Roos has led US Navy theater security cooperation efforts throughout the Indio-Asia-Pacific region utilizing medicine as the common focus.
