Mr. Sudhir M Diggikar
He is a management professional with an experience in healthcare management for more than 34 years. He has worked in various capacities of the top management positions in number of tertiary care hospitals of the Apollo Hospitals Group. After completing his Master’s in Business Administration, he spent a year in DHL and then joined the Apollo Group at Hyderabad as Marketing Executive in August 1988. He went on to become the Marketing Manager of the hospital. He headed the Marketing Department when the hospital was facing fierce competition from a lot of new hospitals which had come up in Hyderabad and finally steered the hospitals to a leadership position.
While holding the position as Marketing Manager at Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad, he also held the position of the Operations Head of Apollo Cancer Hospital at Hyderabad. He also created the network of Hospitals & Nursing Homes across the country for Family Health Plan Limited (FHPL), a third party administrator for health care insurance, a subsidiary company of Apollo Hospitals.
The Cancer Centre was officially inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha on 1st April, 2022. He also ensured that Apollo Hospitals Bhubaneswar launched the first ever Da Vinci Robotic Surgery of the state. He is the convenor of Healthcare of Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) in Bhubaneswar and also a core committee member of the Indian Chambers of Commerce (ICC) Odisha State Council. It is during this tenure that the state passed the much awaited legislation for Cadaver Transplants in Odisha. He is a very able and efficient administrator with a knack of identifying the crux of the problem.
He turned around the fortunes of many hospitals with his unique problem solving skills and innovative solutions. It is his mettle and dedication which has earned him many laurels in the past, the latest being adjudged as the Best CEO of Apollo Hospitals Group in the Year 2019. With over 3 decades of experience with Apollo Hospitals, he is a role model to many within and outside the group. He is a highly respected individual for bringing the correct mix of aggression and intelligence, which today is the motivation for young aspiring leaders.
