Prof Nadira Chaturvedi is a Management Consultant, Academician and Social Entrepreneur. She did her MBA from Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad in 1975.
In a corporate career spanning 30 years, her Entrepreneurial skills were honed in setting up and heading auto ancillary units, with foreign collaborations. Later she continued as CEO of garment export and fashion retail industries.
She is a Professor of Business Studies, teaching post graduate MBA students in Fostiima Business School, New Delhi, for the past 15 years.
As per Nadira, surviving an advanced stage cancer, at the age of 55, was a life changing experience. There was no looking back after she recovered, as she dived into care of cancer patients, survivors and their families, as a volunteer contributing to the day care program, and other initiatives in Cansupport. The insights into patient problems besides medical, the holistic needs of a life -threatening disease, the confusion and distress that affected the patient, family, children, relationships, financial and emotional, left a deep impact, and led her to get involved with Patients For Patient Safety Initiative, which she Co Chairs, launched by CAHO two yeas ago.
In addition to health care, her passion for education, especially for the deprived found avenue in the NGO enterprise, now in its 11th year, by the name of - Aseem’s Library, a family initiative that operates libraries and creative learning centres as an inclusive model for the marginalised. This exposed her to populations including street children, homeless families, afflicted by substance addiction, mental health, and other ailments.
Her varied experience therefore provide a spectrum of grass root community work as well as strategic thinking and management skills.
